NSS backs bell target

The Northern Shooting Show have confirmed they will sponsor the Lincolnshire Bell Target league once again, continuing a successful partnership between the two.

Show organiser Richard Stokoe said: “We are pleased to support the league again. It can only go from strength to strength with more people getting involved and it is opening the sport to a new range of people while supporting our rural pubs.”

The sport takes place in various pubs across the county. Shooters stand 18ft away from the target, which is a four-inch steel plate with a hole in the centre. The object of the sport is to get a pellet through the hole to ring the bell behind it. Teams are made up of eight shooters, each taking five shots. The sport is open to all ages and abilities. Equipment can be provided or you can use your own .177 air rifle with iron or dioptre sights.

If you would like to host a Bell Target session at your pub or club, or would like to take part in the sport, contact the County Development Officer, Dave Carter, on dc_a@btconnect.com. Further information can be found on Bell Target Shooting at www.belltarget.com.

The Northern Shooting Show takes place on 11-12 May 2019 at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
