Rhino

We’re proud to announce the kick-off of the fifth Sporting Rifle auction to raise funds for Save the Rhino and its partner conservancies in Africa.

Our most recent auction, which ended in February this year, raised £13,171 to go towards efforts to combat poaching – the highest total yet since we started fundraising in 2010. But we’re looking to eclipse that total this year and raise £25,000 for Big Game Parks in Swaziland and Borana Conservancy in Kenya.

Sporting Rifle’s editor-in-chief Peter Carr said: “History has proved, time and again, that hunters make the best conservationists. It’s time to demonstrate that once more with another round of fundraising, and to make a real difference to the lives of APUs in the bush.

“Anti-poaching units across Africa are facing an ever increasing threat from the organized teams that orchestrate poaching at the highest level. Rhino poaching has reached record levels, with 393 rhino poached in South Africa in the first four months of this year alone.

“It may be that rhino deaths have already overtaken rhino births in Africa – which means the countdown to extinction has effectively begun. Against this precarious backdrop, it’s more vital than ever that we keep the fight going.”

Play your part in preserving the African rhino by bidding on one of our 20 fantastic lots now.
