Save the Rhino auction: One week to go!

We are pleased to announce that we have set the final date for bids on the 2014/15 Save the Rhino auction.

The auction will end at midday on 16 February, so please get your bids in in good time ahead of the deadline.

This year’s auction total has broken the £10,000 barrier, and the total sum Sporting Rifle has raised over four charity auctions now stands just below the £40,000 mark.

LOT 1
A week’s rhino safari at Big Game Parks, Swaziland. Includes five days’ accommodation and guided viewing with black and white rhinos, elephant, lion and various antelope including the rare roan. A tour of the poaching exhibition at Reilly’s rock and an explanation of the anti-poaching efforts in Swaziland since the infamous rhino wars of the 1990s and transfer from Matsapha International Airport Swaziland (airfare not included). Current bid: £800

LOT 2
Four-day safari with Mankazana Safaris (five nights, four days hunting) for one hunter (full board/lodging/day fees/staff/vehicle). Trophy fees for one warthog, one impala. A medal Chinese water deer buck in Bedfordshire with top stalker Paul Childerley. Must be taken this season – final bid date: 1 January. Final bid: £700

LOT 4
A weekend’s sika hind/stag stalking for TWO rifles in Ireland hosted by John Fenton. Sporting Rifle’s Jason Doyle will guide, and accommodation is included. To be taken November-December (stags and hinds), January-February (hinds/calves only). Current bid: £1,200

LOT 5
Trophy roebuck with John Robson in Yorkshire – to be taken next spring or autumn. Current bid: £750

LOT 6
Gary Knight has donated the preparation of a shoulder mount of a roe, muntjac or CWD. Current bid: £160

Trophy wild goat with stalking guide David Virtue in 2015 in Northumberland’s Cheviot hills. Rifle can be supplied if necessary. Reasonable fitness required.

Three outings for foxes with Gary Green – one from his ‘fox box’, another from a high seat, and a third outing in the vehicle with a lamp. An ideal chance to pick up tips from an experienced foxer using various foxing

    LOT 15 – MY bid is £140 – as I shall be out of email contact from 13 February please add £5 to any bid that exceeds the above.

    LOT 1 – Rhino safari Swaziland – My bid is £450 . In event my bid is eclipsed please add £50 to latest bid up to maximum of £800. If successful I would like to purchase 2 attendees ie twice the bid to the Rhino fund if possible
