The hedgehog has been named best natural emblem for the British nation by BBC Wildlife Magazine readers.
With a decisive victory of 42 per cent of the 9,000 votes cast, the “quintessentially British creature” topped the list of ten species including the badger, otter, red squirrel, and water vole.
