Head measuring with BASC

BASC’s deer officer James Sutcliffe gives us all the latest medal heads as the roebuck season gets into full swing.

April saw 25 heads reach medal standard, including excellent examples of roebuck, muntjac, red, fallow and wild boar from across the country. Muntjac seem to have made up the bulk of the numbers, with 16 fantastic heads including gold, silver and bronze medal specimens.

May, just getting started as I write this, promises to be a good month, with the roebuck season in full swing and the Northern Shooting Show giving a fantastic opportunity for stalkers to get their heads measured.

The next stop after the Northern is The Game Fair, where several members of the measuring team will be on hand to have a look at any heads you bring. Come along and see us – we look forward to meeting you all there.
