Britain’s iconic post boxes will remain a valued part of the countryside and vital communications link in rural areas thanks to Ofcom.
The communications industry regulator has announced it will be extending protections against post boxes being removed.
It also expressed the importance of the survival of the universal postal service.
Claudio Pollack of Ofcom commented: “Consumers and businesses across the UK have told us that they place a high value on the universal postal service.
“Our decision not to change that service means the needs of postal users will continue to be met.”
