SA police make rhino raid

Police have found 10 rhino horns and an elephant tusk in an apartment in Johannesburg.

A police spokesman said police had forced their way into the apartment after an anonymous tip-off, and that they had arrested a Vietnamese man.

As well as the rhino horn, they found several travel documents from different Asian countries and 5 million rand in cash.

This year in South Africa more than 200 rhino have been poached – but arrests are on course to be higher than last year, with 165 made already compared to 232 all of last year.

Sporting Rifle has just raised £10,000 to help combat poaching in South Africa – and we have more initiatives in the pipeline.
