Travel guide publisher Lonely Planet has listed Scotland as one of the world’s top three places to visit in its ‘Best in Travel 2014’ guidebook.
Hosting the Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup and Homecoming Scotland in 2014, the country is also known for its country sports, and can offer “the full ‘Scottish Experience’ of stunning landscapes, great hospitality, quality food and drink and plenty of other activities and historical sites,” says Victoria Brooks, coordinator of the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group.
“The Lonely Planet ranking proves what a great place Scotland is and how much it has to offer visitors,” she continues.
