Sporting shooting websites have erroneously been restricted by mobile phone networks.
The content filters of several network providers, including Vodafone UK and Virgin Mobile, incorrectly categorise shooting websites as ‘Over-18’. Following talks with BASC, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone UK have agreed to whitelist basc.org.uk and they are considering unblocking some other sites. BASC requests that users report any other problems with networks, though Orange and Tesco (which uses the O2 network) have reportedly caused no problems for users trying to access shooting-related websites.
