Arch decoyer Geoff Garrod is back on crop protection duties in this week’s episode of The Shooting Show, trying to deter the wood pigeon hordes from a precious oilseed crop.
Everything is against him as the wind dictates the hide should be set up close to a village and in an effort to reduce the sound of the shotgun report he chooses a moderated Mossberg .410 coupled with his favoured Eley extra-long cartridges.
But with a fickle wind and nervous birds, it’s a hard task deceiving the feathered raiders.
