The Shooting Show – Pigeon decoying with Geoff Garrod – 100 birds before lockdown

The latest episode of the Shooting Show is now available to view!

Shortly before the lockdown, Shooting Show regular Geoff Garrod was out after pigeons that were damaging young oilseed crops – unable to shoot them over the crop he decides to intercept the marauders on a strip of maize cover crop that lies between the two big oilseed fields.

He took the opportunity on this week’s episode of The Shooting Show to compare two types of Eley cartridges – regular lead shot in Pigeon Select and Pigeon HV, and the new steel loads with the eco-friendly wad.

It starts slowly, but before long the pigeons are piling into the decoys, and he ends up with a bag of just over 100, with some bonus crows too.
