This week in The Shooting Show we are back at Kinnaird Estate, primarily checking over a large area which will be planted under a forest creation scheme.
Work on the initial ground preparation should have been underway months ago however the pandemic put paid to that; so as things now begin to move again, I need to check and assess the deer situation as part of ongoing environmental monitoring.
In an ordinary season I would have started to check and cull some of the younger stags as soon as we got into July, but due to current circumstances this has not been possible. We are playing a bit of catch up, so on this occasion I was lucky to get a couple of lovely stags…
