Northern Ireland’s Firearms Consultation has proposed drastic increases fees for firearm certificates and firearms dealers’ certificates, it has emerged.
A paper from the Association of Chief Police Officers’ Firearms and Explosives Licensing Working Group (ACPO FELWG) has proposed increasing the cost of obtaining a shotgun or firearm certificate from £50 to £93.80.
Shooters’ fears were not realised as the government’s response to the Home Affairs Committee’s report into firearms control did not propose any major changes to the law.
