British Shooting, in conjunction with the CPSA, NRA, and NSRA, is developing a Facilities Strategy for the main disciplines within the sport.
A key aspect of this work is to provide a comprehensive picture of current shooting facilities across the UK and to identify issues that will help form future investment priorities and strategic facility planning for the period 2013-17 and beyond.
The survey will assess current shooting facility provision in terms of scope and quality, and the extent of any impact it may have upon participation, growth or retention in the sport. The assessment will include the suitability of facilities for both able-bodied and disabled participants, and for those embarking on the talent pathway.
The survey is being developed and managed by sport and leisure consultants TrioPlus Ltd, appointed by British Shooting to help develop its Facilities Strategy. As well as assessing the results of the survey, a technical guidance document will also be produced.
An e-mail communication incorporating the link to the online survey will be sent out to shooting clubs via their NGB towards the end of July.
