NRA chief executive Andrew Mercer has described his first Imperial Meeting in charge of the NRA as “a wonderful testament to the inclusive nature” of target sports, citing the sheer range of competitions and entrants as a key attribute.
He continued: “Some of the terminology is distinctly odd – referring to First Thursday three weeks into the meeting still puzzles me. I am still confused as to the Umbrella tent meeting and have gone away to think if there is a more dignified way to award the fabulous collection of silverware at the prizegiving. Jim Corbett’s win proved popular and it was good to see one of the many international visitors as the worthy winner.”
