Tail docking in Scotland

The Scottish government will open a consultation next year on the possible exemption of working dogs from the existing ban of the tail docking of dogs. Tail docking has been completely banned in Scotland since 2007, but the government will now consider exemptions for certain types of working dog, such as spaniels and hunt point retrievers.
