In the January issue we brought you news of Andy Lovel’s record 34lb fox, but Roy Lupton of Fieldsports Channel has bagged an even bigger one. Weighing in at 35lb 8oz, it measures an impressive 130cm from its snout to the tip of its brush. This time last year the record stood at 26lb – a weight that is dwarfed by the new record.
Fieldsports Channel presenter Charlie Jacoby said: “Foxes are getting bigger. With bins for them to root through and some people even feeding them, it won’t be long before we hear of a 40-pounder.
“But the tamer you make them, the more likely they are to bite the hand that feeds them. They are wild animals.”
